Visiting Marijuana Dispensaries In Phoenix For The First Time Ever

By Kevin Ward

Dispensaries are stores that make medical supplies available to people in the society. Medical supplies dispensed include medicines and medical equipment and tools. They are operated by specialists in drugs. As opposed to conventional dispensaries that sell conventional medicine, marijuana dispensaries sell cannabis and its derivatives. Marijuana dispensaries in Phoenix can be spotted easily because they are located in various strategic locations.

The first instance of a dispensary dedicated to the selling of marijuana to be established in the United Sates was in the early 1990s. The dispensary was opened by an individual called Dennis Peron in San Francisco. The store was a San Francisco Cannabis Buyers club and it faced a lot of opposition in its first days because cannabis was still placed under strict regulatory laws. This dispensary was very vital in paving the way for future stores currently established in the US.

Cannabis is sold by two types of stores, recreational and medical dispensaries. People with medical conditions are commonly served in medical stores. Sales are made depending on the medical prescriptions made by physicians.

One is needed by the law to present their identity documents when they enter or purchase something in medical cannabis stores. These stores sell all preparations and products of cannabis including flowers, stems, buds, roots, and leaves. The various preparations are made in form of vapor, liquids or solid preparations. Fresh and dried supplies are also available. Those with prescriptions can buy anything they want. However, individuals without medical prescriptions have a limited choice.

An identification document is also required from buyers in recreational marijuana stores. Entrance and purchase of products can only be done by people aged 21 and above. Restrictions are applied on what kind of products are available for purchase. In most places, these facilities can only sell flowers of the cannabis plant. The law also demands that they close by seven in the evening.

Recreational stores may have armed guards at the entrance in some places. These businesses are often operated as cash businesses because many banks are often hesitant to take their money. This has something to do with the fact that cannabis has not been federally approved in the United States. In most states where it is approved, state laws require the shops to be installed with security cameras for monitoring the activities of buyers and sellers.

Some facilities have menus of various preparations from which clients are required to choose. More than 20 different preparations of cannabis exist. Attendants are usually readily available to offer assistance. Indica and sativa are the two key classes of cannabis. A hybrid of the two varieties is also coming up strongly as a class on its own.

The cost depends on the kind of preparation one buys. Some preparations cost much higher than others. The state one is located in may also determine the cost. There are debates to have the product federally legalized because of the economic advantages associated with it.
