Although it may offer relief, scratching can actually worsen things. It can lead to a break in the skin which can invite bacterial activity to strike. An infection may result from such. If you are highly susceptible to itchiness as a result of insect stings, dry weather, and contact with beauty and household cleaning products containing harsh chemicals, read on. Below you will find different natural anti itch cream solutions you may go for.

Baking soda combined with water. A commonly used ingredient especially by bakers, baking soda can be used to deal with skin itchiness. You can turn it into a paste by adding just a few drops of water to it. Apply the resulting white paste where it matters, letting it dry there. For superb results, apply several times throughout the day.

Oatmeal combined with water. Another easy to make solution for itchy spots is the combination of oatmeal and water. Better paste can be achieved if oatmeal is first pulverized with a coffee or spice grinder. For issues concerning large areas of the body, a cup of pulverized oatmeal may be dissolved in a bathtub filled with cool water.

Aloe vera gel plus clay. If you have some aloe vera plants in your garden, skin itchiness should never be a big problem. What you need to do is harvest a tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Afterwards, combine it with equal amounts of clay. The resulting cream is very good at providing much needed relief. Aloe vera gel that comes in a tube may also be used, but make sure that it does not contain any unnecessary ingredients.

Fresh basil with some olive oil. Basil is not only good at making different Italian dishes smell and taste unforgettable, but also relieving skin itchiness. Pound a few freshly harvested basil leaves. Add a couple of drops of olive oil to the mush. Mix very well, generously apply, and then allow it to remain there for up to half an hour. Wash it off with water thoroughly after.

Garlic with a little olive oil. One more common cooking ingredient that you may use together with olive oil is garlic. In 1/2 cup of olive oil, saute 2 or 3 minced cloves of garlic. Let it infuse for 12 hours. Apply as necessary afterwards.

Peppermint essential oil and carrier oil. Most commercially available topical solutions for itching contain peppermint essential oil. If there's a bottle of it in your bathroom, place a few drops of it to your favorite kind of carrier oil. Mix very well and then daub on problem areas using a cotton swab. Allow about 30 minutes to pass before you wash it off.

Warm organic honey. Aside from making just about anything sweet, honey is also very good at dealing with itchiness no matter the reason behind it. Having a small jar of organic honey in the kitchen means you have easy access to an effective anti itch product. It is said that honey works so much better if it's warm. Before applying, heat up a little of it in the microwave for a few seconds only. Check that it's not blistering hot in order to avoid getting burned.
