The Average San Diego Medium Has Many Clients

By Christopher Davis

From the very birth of mankind there have been individuals that claim to have extraordinary powers and talents. Many of them were revered and they had a powerful influence upon society as a whole. History is full of examples of prophets, seers, magicians and other people with unique talents. They are still part of society today but most practitioners now call themselves psychics. They are extremely popular and there are numerous people that will not commit themselves before consulting a San Diego medium.

Everything remotely related to paranormal psychology is wrapped up in fierce controversy. This practice has many enemies that say that there is no such thing as paranormal psychology. They accuse practitioners of using very basic psychological techniques to fool their clients into believing that they have special talents and powers. They say that psychics are skilled liers and that they are nothing but fraudsters.

Critics particularly lament the fact that gullible people often follow the advice of a psychic to their own detriment. Instead of making their own decisions based upon expert advice and common sense, they allow psychics to guide them on a very specific path, even if it seems illogical. When things go wrong, as they often do, the client has no recourse and the psychic will most certainly not accept responsibility for the outcome.

Despite fierce criticism, paranormal psychology remains immensely popular. Many practitioners have prosperous practises and some even boast extremely distinguished client lists. Their abilities and validity have been boosted by the fact that they have often been asked to assist in formal police investigations, often with remarkable success. Many prominent people also freely admit that they consult psychics regularly and that they value these consultations.

Many psychics have reacted to the severe criticism against them by saying that these criticisms are based on a lack of knowledge. Psychics do not foresee the future, read the minds of people, alter events, cast spells or claim magical abilities. True psychics, they say, simply use the natural energy surrounding living organisms to create communication channels to beings existing in other dimensions.

There are even paranormal practitioners that say that they have no special talents whatsoever. They say that they were chosen by beings from other dimensions to act as a channel to people on earth. They do not know why they were chosen and they have no role other than to receive the messages and to convey them to the intended recipients. They point out that many biblical prophets were chosen in exactly this manner to be messengers for God.

In order to practice as a psychic no formal training is required. It is not necessary to obtain a licence, to register with any official authority or to belong to representative organization. Clients must therefore accept the fact that they will not be able to lodge complaints if they are unhappy and there are no channels, legal or otherwise, to pursue dissatisfaction in a formal manner.

Whether paranormal psychology is real or not is not really the issue. For millions of people it is as real as the tangible environment within which they live. For many of them the advice that they get from a psychic is on the same level as the advice that they seek from a doctor or a financial expert.
