Do Psychics In San Diego Really Have Paranormal Talents

By Jeffrey Collins

Modern day clairvoyants, mentalists and seers that claim that they have the ability to foresee the future, communicate with the spirit world and access secret information are nothing new. From the earliest recordings of humankind there have been prophets, witches, wizards and soothsayers that claimed these special talents. Even the Bible details the ability of well respected prophets to tell the future and to warn the populace against the consequences of their actions. Today, psychics in San Diego continue in that tradition.

Paranormal practitioners have many critics, enemies, even. These critics view diviners, or mentalists as they also call themselves to be tricksters that use flattery and extremely basic psychological principles to bamboozle their clients. They say that they use mystic rituals and very basic techniques to convince their clients that they have special insight or knowledge and that they cause a lot of harm.

One of the most important accusations made by critics is that mentalists lead their clients down the path of ruinous decisions. They accuse practitioners of gaining the trust of their clients to such an extent that they do not make decisions for themselves any longer. Instead, they implicitly trust and believe what they are told. In this manner, many people make very poor decisions, often harming themselves and their loved ones in the process.

Paranormal practitioners do have their supporters, however. In fact, many law enforcement agencies make use of their services officially and they are often employed by large corporations and respectable families desperate to solve intriguing cases. In some cases, spectacular results have been achieved. Over the ages, some mentalists such as Nostradamus enjoyed great respect at court. It is no wonder that so many ordinary people believe that they can obtain help and advice from these practitioners.

Believers defend para psychology by saying that no honest practitioner will ever claim to be able to foresee the future. Instead, they say, it is necessary to accept the fact that all living things consist of energy and that some highly sensitive people are able to hone in on that energy and to read it. This is what enables them to gain knowledge not readily available to less sensitive people.

There are even some practitioners that claim that they have no special talents whatsoever. Rather, they say, they have been chosen to be a conduit for a spirit or force. This spirit or force communicates with mortals from another domain. This is not a new idea. Biblical prophets claimed that their prophesies and proclamations were received from God.

There are no laws or regulations governing paranormal practices. There are no official associations or regulating bodies either. This means that clients have to accept that they have no recourse if they are unhappy with the service that they receive. They also need to understand that there are no guarantees and that they may end up disappointed.

There has always been and always will be individuals that claim special talents and abilities. Those that want to adhere to these beliefs have the right to do so, but those that believe that there is no such thing as the ability to perceive information others cannot perceive are also within their rights. Only the future will tell.
